Played, theming “Women Across The Ages”.  This concert featured female composers spanning nearly 10 centuriesm starting Hildegard von Bingen, Fanny Mendelsohn, Jennifer Higdon’s Piano Trio and Mendelssohn’s virtuostic and rarely heard Sextet in D Major with Bass and Piano.

Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique
Played Concertmaster with Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, concluding the season, and a performance includes selections from some of the most exciting romantic symphonic repertoire.  Opening the concert is Wagner's Prelude to his famous opera the Meistersingers of Nurnberg, followed by a composer who is known as the "Father of the Symphony", Haydn's Symphony No. 83 (The Hen) and concluding with one of Tchaikovsky's most powerful and emotionally charged symphonies, The Pathetique.

Featuring the Michigan Opera Theatre Studio Artists, celebrate the centenary of Leonard Bernstein with this new production.  Bernstein’s funny, philosophical, quick-paced take on Voltaire’s biting satire on the tragedy of human nature. Its effervescent score includes the classic songs, Make Our Garden Grow and Glitter and be Gay.

Eugene Onegin at the Detroit Opera House, Michigan Opera Theatre season opening opera. Eugene Onegin is a story of squandered romance and tragic honor.  Known for its rich orchestration and beautiful melodies, “Onegin” is Tchaikovsky’s most beloved opera and the epitome of Russian Lyric Opera.

This project was started to facilitate collaboration between performers and composers in the Detroit-area.  2018 concert featured six world premieres with support provided by the Michigan Council for Arts & Affairs (MCACA) New Leaders Program.

Toklas hosted luminaries of art and literature such as Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Henri Matisse and Ernest Hemingway. The opera explores themes of love, loss, change and art set throughout two world wars. Presented in partnership with Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.

Known for pushing the envelope, Rigoletto keeps audiences on the edge of their seats with a thrilling score and a heartbreaking tale of love, lies and sacrifice. Giuseppe Verdi’s classic is updated in this production by Jonathan Miller. Set in 1950s Little Italy, New York, Rigoletto tells the story of a mafia boss whose womanizing ways lead to vengeance and tragedy when he seduces the daughter of his bartender, Rigoletto. Considered one of Verdi’s operatic masterpieces, Rigoletto is not to be missed.
